When you join exmox, you're stepping onto a global, highly competitive playing field, solving real problems in environments that push you beyond your comfort zone. We move fast, cut the noise, and focus on what actually matters, because in our industry, speed wins.
With 50M+ platform downloads, we're rapidly scaling one of the most exciting innovations in mobile gaming: a rewarded user engagement and acquisition platform that helps players discover, and engage with games they enjoy - creating lasting value for both players and gaming studios.
As Tech Lead (f/m/x) you won't just be "coding tickets" or maintaining legacy systems. You'll be the technical leader of the team at the heart of our Python and Go platform, setting technical direction, raising the engineering bar and staying hands-on in the codebase, with no people management required. You build it, you own it, working close to product and data and seeing the impact of your work in production. At exmox, we're embracing AI as part of how we work, not just what we build. We use AI tools to work smarter, cut down on repetitive tasks and spend our time where it actually moves the needle. If that mindset speaks to you, you'll fit right in.
If you're excited by complex systems, high traffic, data-driven decisions, and the chance to grow by solving challenging problems, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Own:
- Technical leadership & architecture: As the team's primary technical leader, you set technical direction and lead architecture and system design decisions, helping engineers balance speed, quality and long-term maintainability. You also collaborate with other Tech Leads and senior engineers on broader technical decisions, keeping system boundaries clear.
- Technical delivery: You are accountable for the technical execution of the team's work. You turn product and business goals into executable plans, surface risks and dependencies early, and help the team deliver reliably from idea to production.
- Engineering quality, reliability & system health: You set and maintain the engineering bar for the team. You make sure systems are observable, reliable, testable and maintainable, and that production issues lead to concrete improvements. You proactively address technical debt, reliability risks and architectural weaknesses when they threaten our ability to move quickly and safely.
- Knowledge sharing & mentoring: You guide engineers through their day-to-day work, sharing context and best practices, and help the team level up through code reviews and technical knowledge-sharing. You create ownership rather than becoming a bottleneck, stepping in when complexity or risk requires it. You help engineers grow into greater technical ownership and create more decision-making capacity within the team.
- Hands-on contribution: Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you remain an active contributor to the codebase, especially in technically complex or high-leverage areas, while ensuring the broader team retains ownership of the systems it builds.
- AI-assisted engineering practices: You champion AI-assisted engineering as a daily habit, using AI tools to accelerate development, testing, investigation and documentation while maintaining strong engineering judgment and review standards. You help the team adopt effective practices rather than simply increasing tool usage.
- Cross-functional collaboration: You work closely with Product, Data and internal business stakeholders to turn business goals and operational problems into effective technical solutions, balancing pragmatic delivery with long-term system health.
